And now I depart (Tribute to Biola Eniola)

From the horror of this world,

The suffering, strife and toil,

The busy days and the sleepless nights,

Now to the other side,

From all the love and care,
Of mummy, daddy and peers,
From the fun of friends,
Just to an unknown end,

From the cuddle of my childhood,
The instruction of my adolescence,
The stressful start of adulthood,
The hopeful peep into the future,

At the point of my prime,
My hope’s fruit yet to see,
My labor’s reward to receive,
And never again to see the time,

My God to you I turn,
May I not slip from your hands,
For without mummy, daddy and peers,
It’s you, who are my all,

Oh inexpressible light,
Do not leave me in darkness’ cold hands,
But shine those burning eyes of mercy,
On me your miserable child,

And for my friends whom I love,
Who even in death are dear to me,
Must now carry on not forgetting me,
For in love our hearts are one,

Don’t you cry daddy,
Don’t you weep mummy,
Heaven’s gate will be open,
And I’ll be there awaiting you,
