Connecticut!…My Birds!!!

A sad tale for the moonlight,

A bad taste in a favorite soup,

A dark sky at sunrise,

signs of pending doom,

The sun vests in gloom,
Peace suddenly goes to sleep,
Scary sounds of marching feet,
As grief goes to say hello to joy,

As I strain amidst the noise,
Hints are at Rachael,
A woman so kind and lovely,
Who has lost her little humming birds,

Deep down our hearts recall,
Oh! How lovely they were together,
The birds chanting daily poems,
As they colored all around her,

How she worked so hard to prepare,
For the arrival of her baby guests,
And how she would sleep in peace,
Trusting she would see them again,

Alas as tides have turned,
Her smiles are now so weak,
For all she does is weep,
Connecticut…My Birds!!!!!

But what more could Rachael do,
She had never hurt a soul,
When her birds so warm and tender,
Were suddenly gripped by cold hands,

Courage our dear Rachael,
And put back those smiles,
Your birds expect that much,
As they look down from heaven at you,
