Take me back

Here I am my love,

On my knees in tears,

Incline your ears and hear,

The saddened words from my heart,

I have been stupid I know,
Playing away in the snow,
Running around in hope,
that you’d wait for me to grow,

You kept a place for me,
Hoping you’d be top of my list,
You stayed alone in bed,
Wishing that I’d worry for a sec,

now indeed I see,
that all alone I cannot live,
for what you my love did,
made me safe, alive, and quick,

granted I once loved you,
and yes I still well do,
but no matter how much I love,
your love for me stands as more,

my love please do forgive,
a million pounds I’ve not to give,
your love at so costly a price,
can only be paid in kind,

receive me back my ‘throb,
revive that love grown cold,
raise me from my lowly zone,
and lift me up the high walls,
